2008 Citroen C5 II Uncovered Prior To Its Frankfurt Debut

This is it: Citroen’s brand-new Mondeo fighter, the C5 that’ll make its first public appearance at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September. However, since three months is a lifetime in the world of automotive journalism, French car magazine Auto-Journal took the liberty to enlighten us with a whole series of photos featuring a totally undisguised 2008 C5.

While it would be foolish, to say the least, to draw any final conclusions on the C5’s appearance, judging by what we see here, Citroen’s new five-door liftback abandons the first generation’s sober looks in favour of a more dynamic shape, inspired from the latest C4 and C6 models. Likewise, the 2008 C5’s interior blends several characteristic details we find in other Citroens like the C4 & Picasso derived, fixed steering wheel hub that in theory, lets the driver operate several functions of the car without removing his or her hands from the wheel, but in practice, proves a huge annoyance. -Continued: Click “Read More…” below

No word on technical specs, but if there’s one thing we can be sure of is that, like the current model, the new C5 with be equipped with Citroen's technologically advanced, hydropneumatic suspension.

BMW 330i Coupe: When The Fan Hits The Roof...

Seriously, how the heck did this Russian driver manage to tip over his sparkling new E92 BMW 330i Coupe? The only apparent damage on the car -roof apart, seems to be on the right hand side, between the wheel and the door. But wait; there’s a desperate blonde sitting with her head firmly attached to the BMW Z4's steering wheel in one of the photos and when there’s a blonde... If the translation we made is correct, the female driver in the BMW Z4 was somehow involved in the accident which ended with the 330i tip-top over aside on its head. Shucks, we’re starting to sound like blondes ourselves now… -Click "read More..." below for more pictures

-As many of you rightfully pointed out, its a BMW 335i and not a 330i -one exhaust pipe on each side. What can we say, it was late, we were tired , we deserve to be punished by driving a pink Aztec on 13-inch rims for a month :-)

2009 Audi A1 Rendering

A couple of weeks ago Audi confirmed that its working on a new MINI rival named A1 that’ll be exclusively built at VW Group’s plant in Brussels. German magazine Autozeitung took that opportunity to unleash yet another CGI (Computer Generated Image) in an attempt to foretell the styling direction that Audi will follow with its upper-premium mini. -Continued after the jump

Despite the fact that the German carmaker avoided giving any specific details, one doesn’t need to be a rocket scientist to make ends meet. As we’ve previously reported, the A1 will be based on VW Group’s supermini platform (VW Polo, Seat Ibiza & Skoda Fabia) using exclusively turbocharged engines ranging from the 122Hp 1.4 TSI to the 200Hp 2.0 TFSI. Sales of the A1 are expected to start in Europe towards the end of 2009 with the US following in early 2010.

Scooped: 2010 Toyota Zero Emissions Pick-Up

We’ve done it again! Carscoop brings you exclusive spy photos of an undisguised next generation Toyota Pick-Up and it is definitely a stunner. Caught by spy photographers somewhere between the Blue and White Niles in eastern Sudan, Africa, the yet unnamed Pick-Up is powered by an innovative, eco-friendly animal-train that’ll subsequently replace Toyota & Lexus hybrid powertrains in the very near future. A Toyota representative revealed to Carscoop in an off-the-cd conversation that the Japanese automaker has been reviewing two different types of animal-trains but declined to say what the second one was. Stay tuned for more info on this breaking story.

Fifth Gear Test The 2008 Ford Mondeo

The folks over at Fifth Gear took the all-new Ford Mondeo for a spin and they absolutely loved it. Having driven the 2008 Mondeo ourselves, can’t say that we blame them. Ford managed to create a mid-size sedan with a premium feel and a sub-premium price tag. However, we would like to state that, we aren’t so enthusiastic with the third-generation Mondeo’s exterior looks. Don’t get us wrong, it’s a billion times better looking than its predecessor, but having seen the stunning IOSIS concept, we were expecting something with a bit more character. But as an associate of mine says, when it comes to design, opinions are like aooooles; everybody has one…

BMW 1-Series Coupe With M-Package Scooped

Our second BMW-related post of the day brings us to the highly anticipated 1-Series Coupe that seems to have been caught during a filming session –which is kind of weird if you think about the camouflage, but whatev. From the looks of it, the dark-red/burgundy colored 1-Series Coupe features an M-Package that includes the same style “deepthroat” bumper we find in the M3/M5/M6 models. -Click “Read More…” below for one more image

Jeep Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited Tweaked By Brabus – Startech

20-inch rims & 285/50 rubber? While we find these sorts of mods utterly pointless for a thoroughbred 4x4 we’ll secretly admit to liking Startech’s accessories program, available for both short wheelbase and the long wheelbase Wranglers. Beginning with the wheels, Brabus’ Chrysler Group tuning arm offers polished five-spoke, 20-inch Monostar rims with 285/50 on/off tires.

Exterior-wise, Startech has equipped the Wrangler with tubular side guards (for short and long wheelbase models) to protect the rocker panels and partially hide the Jeep’s frame from view while the spare wheel cover gets a with high-gloss stainless-steel ring. The interior of the Jeep can also be upgraded with highly polished scuff plates and Startech’s own sport steering wheel. Additional customization requests can be fulfilled by the company-own Startech upholstery shop that offers among others, partial and fully leather interiors made from Mastik leather. -Continued after the jump

Startech motor engineers are currently developing the SD 4T tuning module for the 2.8-liter (171 cu. in.) common-rail turbodiesel engine along with new sport exhausts available for all engine and body variants of the Jeep. The fully stainless-steel exhausts feature one characteristic oval chrome tailpipe each on the right and left, and produce a more sonorous engine sound, while at the same time promise to optimize power yield.

BMW X6 Crossover Renderings

We might not have formed a clear idea yet to as how the upcoming X6 crossover will look like -no thanks to BMW’s more than perfect camouflaged X6 prototypes, but at least there’s no shortage of CGI’s around the net. The above rendering comes from Italian webzine, Infomotori, with the artist proposing a sporty look for the mid-size crossover with a coupe-like roofline and “M” style bumpers and rims. His guess is as good as ours.-Follow the jump for more pictures
