BMW ruled the roosts at Beijing Motor show by unveiling Gran Coupe concept. Designed to amalgamate the abilities of a GT and a sports car, Gran Coupe is a four-door, coupe-like salon with its length at five meters. The concept is rumored to enter into production as a new 8-series flagship.

With its roofline four inches lower than that of current 7-series saloon and rear quarters slightly more restricted, the BMW concept’s production version, as per insiders, to come in 2012 and to rival models like Porsche Panamera, Mercedes-Benz CLS and Audi A7.

However, there are no indications from BMW whether they will produce the vehicle or not. Also, the sleek Gran Coupe retains iconic touches like the double-kidney grille, shark nose, the Hofmeister kink at the rear windows and the sporty coupe like silhouette.

Further, Gran Coupe is to use the same ‘backbone’ platform that underpins the current 5-series, 7-series and 5 GT. Additionally, the car will present the same mix of six and eight cylinder petrol and diesel engines as those cars mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Car will also be slightly longer and wider to current 7-series.

Beijing Motor Show saw the wraps going off to MG’s UK-designed MG ZERO concept car. The MG ZERO is a five door mini designed by the British brand’s director of design, Anthony Williams and measures around 4.0 meters in length.

The concept car flaunts high-tech interior and an inventive use of red-color lighting to create a special ambiance inside the cabin. The pint-sized five-door is designed to offer up more style than space and to appeal to the so-called ‘G-90s’ - people aged between 18 and 28.

Other than using an all new platform, the MG3 also uses a wholly new range of four-cylinder engines. Codenamed NSE, they’ve already made their appearance in Roewe 350, and will come in 1.3 and 1.5-liter capacities is expected to churn out approximately 67bhp and 107bhp respectively.

Well, there is no info made available by MG about the fuel economy or how long will it take to see a production version come up. Nevertheless, the other features include a floating center console, complete with touch screen controls, as well as some kind of communication system on the rear of the vehicle.

MG is now owned by Chinese automaker Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) and with its sportiest exterior than any MG, the concept vehicle may one day make it to the market badged as Roewe 150 or the MG2.

In order to solidify its commitment to build the brand and to continue to grow its presence in China, Lamborghini introduced Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce China Limited Edition.

The special edition of the flagship Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce exclusively for the Chinese market has 6.5-liter V-12 producing 670hp. The all wheel drive, however, is simply a cosmetic upgrade of the flagship model. It’ll be a limited edition as the brand to produce no more than 350 cars.

On the other, the weight of Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce China edition has been reduced approximately 100 kg and the car boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 2.3 kg (5.1 lbs) per hp. The car races from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds with its top speed at 342km/h.

The china limited edition is painted gray, accentuated by an orange stripe down the center of the car. Inside, the car receives a customized plaque, displaying the car’s serial number and the owner’s name.

This bizarre concept is dubbed Hnusp L-DDC concept car, revealed at Beijing Motor show. With single wheel at each end and two in the middle, the concept has a mid-mounted engine. The car gives the impression like two Reliant Robins melded together. Created especially to investigate the ways of improving side impact safety by the Hnusp University, the car is also designed to showcase fuel-saving technology. Hnusp L-DDC is equipped with 1.05-liter four-cylinder engine mounted above middle wheels, offering better weight distribution. The concept car is tested in a wind tunnel and achieved the drag co-efficient of 0.22cd which is identical to BMW’s Vision Efficient Dynamics concept.

The above pictured Limousine is from China based First Auto Works (FAW) that has a long history to provide official vehicles for the hierarchy of the People’s Republic of China. The car was spotted at the Beijing Motor Show and is a modern interpretation of those original models from the 1950s. However, its greenhouse and door array have close affinities with contemporary Rolls-Royce Phantom.
