New Alfa Romeo Giulietta aka Milano have a five door, Golf-attacking car from Alfa using Fiat’s new C-Evo platform that will find plenty of use across not just the Fiat range but that of Chrysler too. It’s a bit bigger all round than the outgoing 147 and when it arrives in 2010 it will get a choice of two pertrol and two diesel engines. The petrols will be a 1.4 litre and a 1.4 litre Multiar with 120bhp and 170bhp respectively and the diesels will be a 1.6 litre and a 2.0 litre with 105bhp and 170bhp.

A new and powerful limited edition Focus RS model, called the RS500, is being launched as the ultimate performance Ford and will provide the definitive driving experience for serious performance car enthusiasts. Making its global debut at the 2010 Leipzig Motor Show in Germany on April 9, the new model has been given the RS500 designation to highlight its strictly-limited production run of 500 individually-numbered vehicles, all of which will be offered for customers to purchase. The new Focus RS500 features a muscular 350 PS 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine, which generates 15 per cent more power than the standard Focus RS and delivers truly exhilarating performance. The RS500’s breathtaking power is matched by an equally dramatic appearance. The limited edition model sports a unique matt black 'foil' paint finish with matching alloy wheels to deliver a powerful visual impact which is unlike any other production Ford. “We were determined to mark the end of production for the current and acclaimed Focus RS with something even more special,” said Joe Bakaj, Ford of Europe's vice president for Product Development. “From its stunning looks to its intoxicating performance, we have no doubt that the RS500 will be appreciated and quickly snapped up by performance car enthusiasts. “This vehicle joins a long line of iconic RS Fords and is a worthy recipient of the RS500 name, which became synonymous with success on the road and track with the legendary Sierra RS500 Cosworth that dominated saloon car racing during the late 1980s,” Bakaj added. SpeedART Porsche Cayenne Hybrid 2010

SpeedART is the German tuning firm’s program for the Cayenne Hybrid bumps output on the 3.3-liter supercharged V6 TSI from 333HP to 407HP, thus increasing the petrol engine and electric motor system’s combined output from 380HP to 450HP. The 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time drops from 6.5 sec to 6.0 sec, while top speed rises by 10km/h to 252km/h (157mph).

When those few fortunate souls aren't actually behind the wheels of their 599XXs, Ferrari will graciously store them.

In that price range the Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG ($145,200) is one of the larger sports coupes you’ll find. Based on the S-Class sedan, the CL63 has front interior dimensions similar to its larger sedan sibling, including an additional two inches of hip room. Headroom suffers, however, because of the sloped roofline.

The CL63’s sports car credentials include a 6.2-liter V-8 making 518 horsepower, and it has a zero-to-60-mph time of 4.5 seconds.

Other coupes in this price range are smaller than the C63 but could be accommodating: Jaguar XKR ($95,150), Maserati Gran Turismo ($117,500) and BMW X6 ($102,100).

This is an issue that has Subaru’s management worried, so much so that it is even considering excluding the upcoming rear-wheel drive sports car from sale in North America.

“We’re an all-wheel-drive brand,” company spokesman Michael McHale explained to Ward’s Auto. At question is whether brand loyalists would “forgive us a one-off exception,” he said.

McHale went on to reveal that the Subaru and Toyota versions will be very similar, except for unique styling at the front and rear.
