Hybrid Samand Production Inked

The MOU for the development and localization of hybrid car technology and its commercialization in IKCO was signed by officials from Tehran University, Presidential Technology Office, IDRO, Industries and Mine Ministry and Iran Khodro CEO.

Sazehaye Khodro Diar Manufacturing Co. was established in 2000 for the production of vehicle body pressed parts through investment made by private sector. By installation and setting up 6 units of 500 to 2000 tons hydraulic and Heavy Stroke Presses in January 2003, the Company managed to obtain the Exploitation License for body pressed parts.

In line with its developmental plans and recognizing vacant market capacity for pick-up and SUV in the country and in the region, this Company studied the feasibility to co-operate with a few world large vehicle manufacturing Companies to produce these products in Iran. The result of study and negotiations with the candidate Companies, led to the selection and conclusion of an agreement with Great Wall Motor of China. GWM Co. is the largest pick-up manufacturing Co. in China.

Largest Iranian automaker taps the soaring Chinese market further

In October 2007, both presidents from Iran Khodro and Youngman had a meeting in TaiAn city. They later decided to change the target: rather than to produce the Samand, the JV will produce a new model--X12. The X12 is not the final name of the new car; later we'll find a good name for the car to launch onto both the Iranian market and Chinese market. It's designed and developed by Iran Khodro.

Belarus offers tax breaks to carmakers

Belarus is offering tax breaks to car companies willing to set up assembly plants in the ex-Soviet state and hopes ultimately to create a national automaking plant, a senior government official said on Monday.

Igor Rogozin, a senior economy minister official, told reporters a decree issued by President Alexander Lukashenko would exempt any company starting up a plant from all income and excise taxes for three years.

"This long-awaited decree has been signed and will allow us to create new production capacity for cars in our country," Rogozin told a news conference.

GEA dan Arina Simbol Kebangkitan Otomotif Nasional

Jadi mobil imut bukan berarti gak punya nyali di tanah air. Mobil-mobil produksi lokal seperti GEA dan Arina diharapkan jadi simbol bangkitnya dunia otomotif tanah air.

"Ya jelas kita sangat mendukung kehadiran mobil-mobil nasional tersebut. Ini bisa jadi salah satu kebangkitan otomotif nasional," ujar Ketua Umum Karimun Club Pujiyono Wahyuhadi ketika ditemui detikOto di sela-sela Karimun Club Car Clinic di Jakarta, Sabtu (4/3/2009).

GEA dan Arina kini masih dalam tahap pengembangan dan tengah diupayakan agar bisa diproduksi massal. GEA tengah menunggu hasil uji emisi untuk memperoleh sertifikasi final dari Dephub, sedangkan Arina tahun 2010 nanti diharapkan mulai produksi massal.

Hyundai H-1 XG Akan Diproduksi di Indonesia

Besarnya pasar MPV di Indonesia membuat Indonesia dipercaya menjadi basis produksi Hyundai H-1 lewat PT Hyundai Mobil Indonesia. Rencananya, pabrik Hyundai di Pondok Ungu, Bekasi, Jawa Barat, akan memproduksi H-1 untuk dalam negeri dan ekspor ke negara-negara ASEAN.

Erwin Djajadiputra, Vice Presiden Sales, Marketing, and After Sales PT HMI, mengatakan saat ini pabrik Hyundai memiliki kapasitas 27 ribu unit per tahun. Jika jadi memproduksi H-1, angka ini tidak akan bertambah terlalu banyak. "Semua masih on schedule, mudah-mudahan sebelum akhir tahun sudah terlaksana," kata Erwin.

Mobil Nasional GEA Depak Mesin China

Mobil nasional Indonesia yakni GEA yang dikembangkan oleh perusahaan asal Madiun yaitu PT Inka sepertinya memang ingin menunjukan diri sebagai mobil nasional yang patut dibanggakan.

Sebab, bila di awal pengembangannya GEA masih ingin menggunakan mesin dari China, kini GEA semakin percaya diri untuk mendepak mesin China tersebut dan menggunakan sebuah mesin buatan anak bangsa.
