General Motors, produsen kendaraan terbesar Amerika, menggeser sebagian unit penelitiannya ke Universitas Michigan dengan menanamkan US$ 9 juta.

Universitas itu bersama General Motors membangun sebuah institut penelitian di mana mahasiswa teknik akan bisa belajar mekanisme pembakaran mesin yang lebih canggih, teknologi baterai, dan pembuatan mobil listrik.
