You might surely have felt ill at ease many times with the sunlight while driving at the morning or evening hours. It’s not only annoying but disturbs your concentration as well. So far all you could do to get rid of the sun burning holes in your eyes is to just flip down your sun visor or wear your sun glasses. But these don’t fully solve the problem either.

However, two San Diego students: Aaron Schild and Rafael Cosman have come up with the solution at the Intel’s 2010 International Science and Engineering Fair. The duo has fixed a Toyota Prius with the electro-chromic panels that dim when the voltage is applied.

With the help of ultrasonic range finder that could track the driver’s position and a VGA webcam which measures the light coming through, the amazing device dims the sections liable to cause the most eyestrain, instead of darkening the whole windscreen.

It’ll surely help driver to avoid the sun light at a crucial times but will not halt the scenic view of the occupants as only some portions will be darken with respect to driver’s positions. The electro-chromic segments costs $0.25 per square inch but has a drawback for it works slowly.

The sliver model of the Bluebird 1928 car that was driven by the English racing motorist, Sir Malcolm Campbell, to touch the landmark record of 206.96mph at Daytona Beach in February 1928 is to go under the hammer as a part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 2.

The silver-plated model of Bluebird 1928 was originally donated by Sir Malcolm’s son, Donald Campbell, to St Peter’s School. However, when the school was closed, the model was returned to the Campbell family which is now selling it.

The brass silver-plated replica that represents the 950bhp Napier-engined car is up for the grab at Bonhams. This model is 46cm long, nine-and-a-half cm high and weighs about 2lb, is engraved with the words: The Bluebird 1928. The replica is expected to fetch £30,000 to £35,000.

Part of the larger development project in shanghai, museum’s interior has been designed by British architect, David Chipperfield. This museum opened to the public with a show curated by the artist Cai Guo-Qiang and it features robots, DIY flying machines and a rooftop UFO.

Whereas the Shanghai Expo 2010 proved to be an arena for the companies as well as countries to flaunt latest inventions, Cai Guo-Qiang’s ‘peasant Da Vincis’ tells the tales of the farmer inventors from all over China, who’ve shown immense passion and audacity in a quest to make their dreams come out true.

Other than showing these DIY creations, the project invites the artists and inventors to create and demonstrate their works, thus encouraging the public argument on the raw DIYs as well as on their aesthetics, social and cultural implications.

Museum showcases five submarines, four airplanes, helicopters and flying saucers in an environment which is lyrical and spiritual, enclosed by green grass, blossoming flowers and live birds. Visitors are attracted to the museum by a Glowing UFO, ‘flying saucer C’ by Du Wenda, spinning on the roof.

Entry to the museum is made through courtyard that has been morphed into a makeshift construction site. Also, there are three large paintings on the rooftop plaza having three slogans painted in giant Chinese characters: ‘never learned how to land’ ‘what’s important isn’t whether you can fly’ ‘peasants - making a better city, a better life’. All these are enough to attract the attention of creative men and to mesmerize the onlookers at the same time.

And with the desire to see the Harleys around in 2020, designer Jonathan Russell envisions how the motorcycle should look like in that era. Dubbed the 2020 Harley Davidson 1, the concept features an Apple computer inspired laser-etched perforations in the aluminum that gives enough transparency to let the LED lights underneath shine through. On the other, the perforated aluminum behind the seat hides and reveals the tail lights and turning signals. The other features include a non skid treads, enlarged V-twin engine, oil tank and chrome picture frame for the engine. The concept has gas tank, airbox, oil tank and battery, located inside the tank area. Also, there are breaks for ultra-stopping, wrapped two to one exhaust, and use of aluminum in plenty would make this bike lighter and faster than any other Harley you’ve seen before.

This three-litre block (2,993cc) stands out as a benchmark in terms of its dynamic performance, driving pleasure and silent ride. Peak power is 235hp (173kW), while maximum torque stands at 450Nm. Thanks to these vital statistics, Renault Laguna Sports Car Coupé V6 dCi 235 accelerates from standstill to 100kph in 7.3 seconds, yet its combined cycle fuel consumption does not exceed 7.2 litres/100km (189g of CO2/km). Special attention has been paid, too, to its acoustic performance: in addition to its silence at normal speeds, a perceptible bark when accelerating and during transient phases irresistibly suggests performance.

The 240-horsepower (175kW) 3.5 V6 petrol engine delivers maximum torque of 330Nm at 4,400rpm. It drives through the same six-speed automatic transmission as the V6 diesel and covers the 1,000-metre standing start in 27.6 seconds. Although an ideal match for Renault Laguna Sports Car Coupé's dynamic credentials, its combined cycle fuel consumption is just 9.9 litres/100km (230g of CO2/km).

Renault Laguna Sports Car Coupé Monaco GP will be available at Renault dealers in June, with prices starting from €38,800. Order books open early-Mai. Ordering for the latest addition to the Laguna Coupé range is open now, ahead of deliveries in July. Production for the white hot limited edition ends in September.
