Lamborghini Launches Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Limited Edition

Lamborghini has teamed up with Swiss luxury watchmaker Blancpain to create a limited edition version of its Gallardo supercar that pays homage to the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo racing cars. As you may have guessed, Blancpain is the title sponsor of the one-make racing series.

Finished in a black paintwork, the road-legal Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition adopts the racing model's Countach-sized rear-wing and unique engine cover which is said to offer improved ventilation.

The car also gets Skorpius alloy wheels with yellow-painted brake calipers and discs made from carbon-ceramic composite, while several external components, such as the diffuser and mirror casings are made from carbon-fiber.

The racing atmosphere continues in the interior which is finished in black Alcantara with yellow accents and visible carbon-fiber.

As with the Super Trofeo race car, propulsion for the all-wheel drive model comes from the 5.2-liter V10 with 570-horsepower found in the series production Gallardo Superleggera.

Lamborghini says the Blancpain Edition tips the scales (dry) at 1340 kilograms (2954 lb) making it "the lightest road-going model in Lamborghini's range." Not to nitpick, but that's not entirely true as the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera has the same exact weight. So to be precise, it shares the title with the Superleggera.

Power-to-weight ratio of the vehicle stands at 2.35 kilograms (5.18 lb) per hp with the Blancpain completing the standard zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in 3.4 seconds and reaches the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark only 6.8 seconds later (10.2''). Top speed exceeds 320 km/h (199 mph).

There is no word on pricing or availability of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition as of this time.

F1 Singapore 2010 kovalainen Fire at Singapore Grand Prix 2010 video

Kovalainen Fireman

With three laps left, Vettel was recieving tips over the radio to focus on entry and clean exits in the turns, as the gap went back up to 1.2s with the top five as they had been since the restart. It dropped again to .8s, likely as they went through a local yellow caused by a spinning Buemi and Kovalainen. The Finn was soon on fire, and dramatically, on the front straight, getting out cleanly and getting a fire extinguisher to stop the fire himself. The gap was a tiny two tenth on the final lap between Alonso and Vettel, as they went through lapped traffic. It was Petrov ahead, then Massa as they tightened up closer and closer in the race and championship fight. Alonso held off the younger German to keep the win, his second in a row.

Hyundai Becomes Preferred Supplier for UK Police

Bob Dylan once said, "The Times They Are A-Changin'." If you lived in Britain in the 1950s and '60s, you'd see custodian helmeted policemen driving around in Morris Minors and Ford Anglias. In the '70s you'd see mustachioed policemen driving around in Ford Consuls and Rover 3500s. Then the '80s rolled around and there were policemen and women cruising around in Rover SD1s and Land Rovers.

Then, starting from the late 1980s, something strange happened. Rover - one of the most British of carmakers - started rebadging Hondas. In the 1990's, Germans, who had lost the War, began buying all of Britain's beloved marquees. And the UK Police, who had always bought British before, began buying Mitsubishis. The world had gone mad.

Now, in 2010, Hyundai has been awarded 'preferred supplier' status by the National Association of Police Fleet Managers. That means the UK Police Forces can buy Hyundai's new vehicles.

It's a big sales and publicity boost for Hyundai. Each year, 2,000 cars are acquired by London's Metropolitan Police and a further 7,800 are acquired for work outside the city.

Managing director of Hyundai UK, Tony Whitehorn, said: "Anyone buying a car needs to make sure that they are getting the best possible package for their money. That's especially true when you are buying thousands of vehicles and spending taxpayers' money! The quality, reliability, resale value and performance of Hyundai vehicles has shone through and they've been given the green light to carry a blue light."

Hyundai said the most popular vehicles are expected to be the i20, i30, ix35, Santa Fe and iLoad van. Can you imagine an i20 police car? Doesn't the mere thought of it make your skin crawl?

For the time being, here's an ix35 / Tucson in police livery. It's an okay looker, though doesn't look half as smart as a Land Rover in the same outfit. Maybe I'm just bitter. Oh well, at least Officer Plod will have iPod integration and ESC as standard. That'll show them hoodlums whose boss.

2011 Toyota Camry SE
The combination of two words whose meaning is apparently contradictory called an oxymoron, like "living dead", "dangerously safe", "almost pregnant" and "Camry Sport.

Though as strange as it may seem, in short, the car has a certain logic. A typical Camry is well known for its comfortable ride, soft as a marshmallow itself, its direction unclear and the lack of driving pleasure. But the SE version of the Toyota sedan seems to avoid being characterized as boring.

Yet, Toyota sells so many copies of the Camry every year we have to realize one thing: driving dynamics do not reflect the priority of everyone, and should not be either. That may well offer the SE sport to those shopping for a Mazda6 or Ford Fusion?

The Camry SE has aerodynamic additions that provide a little more style to its familiar form, like a front bumper, a rear diffuser, side skirts and a spoiler on the trunk. Personally, I would not get a Camry without these additions. In fact, as they can give the car a sportier look, a competitor like the Suzuki Kizashi is not displayed and no one looks much sexier.

The interior offers a feeling industrial. In addition, alignment of parts of the dashboard is poor, and that's since the consolidation of the sedan for the 2007 vintage. The mixture of dark gray and light gray is nothing exciting. However, all orders well designed, with large buttons and rotary controls easy to use air conditioning, comes to forgive part of monotony.

I wish the driver's seat cushion can be lowered further because my head is tickled by the ceiling while driving: would recline, for it would be inappropriate cons with my usual driving position. The leather seat surfaces are slippery, and with little lateral support, it bustles constantly on the seat in the curves, or it grips the steering wheel.

The space at the back, very generous, three adults can sit on the bench with little chicane. Trunk space, meanwhile, excels with its 425 liters.

I would also like that you can get Bluetooth connectivity without having to opt for all leather and transparent panel. Yes, you can buy a module at the dealership BLU Logic, unfortunately it does not buttons mounted behind the wheel. It would also be nice to have the USB audio da chain without using a group of options $ 3,130.

Under the hood lies the 4-cylinder 2.5-liter 16-valve engine introduced recently by Toyota: it develops 179 horsepower (10 more than in the LE and XLE versions) and a torque of 171 lb-ft. A 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode is also included, since they can not get manual gearbox in Canada.

The 0-100 km / h in 9.2 seconds making, which is not so bad, and one of the fastest in our recent comparison of mid-size sedan. It does not feel as fast when driving more inspired, because the 6-speed automatic will be slow to react, even in sport mode, for the sake of fuel economy. Traction control is hibernating all summer, since it will probably never apply until there is no snow on the ground.

Speaking of fuel economy, our one-week trial ended with an average of 9.1 L/100 km, which is more than acceptable.

At full throttle, the engine becomes noisy, only by adopting a more relaxed driving, the interior of the Camry is quiet. The turnover of the car is comfortable, obviously, and the suspension so-called "sport tuned" pleasantly surprised us: not by its rigidity, but by how it makes the car more enjoyable to drive. Note that we did not say "exciting to drive, since management is still unclear at the center, which does not inspire to go hunting for twisty roads.

The base price for a Camry SE 4 cylinder falls to $ 27,755, while the band leather and transparent panel said earlier on our test car bringing the total to $ 30,885. For the price, a Suzuki Kizashi appears smaller but more captivating than the Camry, if a sports sedan is your cup of tea of course.
