And that’s not all because according to Porsche, by July 31, the end of the 2006/2007 fiscal year, around 36,000 units from the 911 series will have been sold globally setting another record in the history of the sportscar.

Porsche 997 Reaches 100,000 Sales Faster Than Any 911 Before
We know; sale records and 100.000 units isn’t something that you’d expect from a high-end sports car but the Porsche 911 is the exception that proves the rule. A little over three years since production started in April 2004, the 100,000th vehicle in the current sixth-generation 911 coded Type 997 rolled off the production line. What’s so special about this event is that in the 44 years of the 911, never have so many of cars been produced so quickly as with the latest iteration of Porsche’s renowned coupe. The “record” 911, a guards red Carrera S with manual gearbox, is to be delivered to a customer in the Frankfurt/Main area within the next few days. -Continued after the jump
