Aston Martin plans to sell Sports Cars in India
The very popular Aston Martin DB4 was the first truly modern Aston sports car.
Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd, a luxury sports car maker based in Britain has been looking for the Indian market for pushing its growth story. Speaking from Aston Martin's headquarters in Warwickshire, a company spokesperson, confirmed, "We are actively looking at the Indian market."
It is, however, to be decided about the models the company plans to launch in India. The company is also learnt to be in discussions with dealers but no final choice has been made yet.
India remained a favorite destination for various luxury cars given to its financially strong upper class and better economic prospectus. Auto companies performed well in the Indian market despite slowdown as sales of BMW India Pvt. Ltd and Audi India reported an increase of 28 per cent and 61 per cent respectively selling 2,627 units and 977 units respectively.
Deepesh Rathore, Managing Director with business analysts IHS Global Insight said, "The luxury car market is tilted to fresh arrivals as the buyer in this segment is always looking for exclusivity. Hence there will always be potential for a new player entering the market."
