2011 version of the Super Snake. Of course, there are more sane options including 660 horsepower and 750 horsepower variants, but the 800 horsepower version will undoubtedly be the must-have for the guy (or girl) who needs the biggest and baddest 'Stang on the block. Also new for 2011 are the optional anthracite wheels, white stripes and new side scoops. The Super Snake package starts at $30,245 (just $250 less than the cost of a brand new 2011 Mustang GT) and can be built at Shelby's Las Vegas facility or at any of their official Mod Shops around the country.

What is believed to be a test mule of the next Ferrari 612 Scaglietti using the current model's sheet metal as camouflage, was spied doing the rounds at the Italian firm's Fiorano race track near Maranello. From what we know up until now, the 612 Scaglietti's replacement is due in showrooms by early 2012 and will benefit from a lighter chassis and a revised V12 engine with direct-injection.

Though not confirmed, there's also the possibility the new four-seater supercar may adopt the gasoline-hybrid technology Ferrari unveiled in the 599 GTB Fiorano HY-KERS concept at the Geneva auto show earlier this year.

The system, which is derived from the kinetic energy recovery tech Ferrari used in Formula One, comprises of an electric motor coupled to the rear of the dual-clutch 7-speed F1 transmission and a set of lithium-ion batteries, to boost fuel economy and cut CO2 emissions by around 35 percent.

The People have Spoken: Audi TT RS Coming to America, Sales Start Next Year

To the surprise of few, after more than 11,500 fans in the USA expressed their interest for the spicy hot TT RS in a survey on Facebook in just over a month, Audi announced today that it is bringing the five-cylinder coupe to the U.S. market by the third quarter of 2011. Only the coupe version of the TT RS will make its way on this side of the pond with pricing and standard features to be announced closer to the launch date.

"With performance and agility rooted in Audi motorsports success, the TT RS is truly an emotional sports car," said Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America in a prepared statement. "That emotion became abundantly clear as we explored interest across the country."

Even though the press release from Audi of America makes word three times of the same 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine producing "360-horsepower" and 332 lb-ft of torque found on the European-spec model, we all know that the TT RS's five-pot pot delivers 340HP (the torque figure is correct).

The 2.5T engine will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system allowing the TT RS to complete the a 0 to 62 mph - 100km/h (and not 0-60mph as wrongfully mentioned in the press release) sprint in 4.6 seconds.

The first photos of the updated 2012 Nissan gt-r

Nissan introduced the first images of the updated version of the GT-R, which will start selling this fall. Major changes will affect the exterior, but the sources associated with the project argue that the increased engine power.

Visually, the new Nissan GT-R has LED optics, especially noticeable on the front bumper. In the rear came a large cone, which now has a third brake light. In addition the company will be offered a set of disks.

Although there is still no official information on the technical characteristics are not released, will have many new 3.8-liter V-6 rated at more than 500 hp and 600 Nm of torque.

Nice Design, MAN: Concept S Truck Study

MAN Nutzfahrzeuge will debut its new streamlined Concept S at this month's 2010 IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Hannover. Why do you care? Because it foreshadows the future of road-based cargo transport designs (i.e. they're finally getting smooth and futuristic instead of blocky and dated), which by itself can lead to significant improvements in efficiency.

By aggressively attacking resistance in the wind tunnel, the coefficient of drag has been cut down a bunch (sadly, MAN doesn't provide any numbers). In turn, the unspecified engine (again, more info would be nice, MAN) now uses 25% less fuel / emits 25 % less fumes than "a comparable, conventional 40-tonne semitrailer tractor".

MAN says that "with the truck study Concept S, [it] is starting the discussion about efficient transportation of goods and the importance of aerodynamics in truck design." That's right, people are finally "starting" to think about the importance of aerodynamics and wind resistance in big-rig design. It's good to see MAN's getting on the ball, but what took so long?
